Hey guys, and no I have not abandoned you even though it’s been a while since my last post, but there just hasn’t been much to post on. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has been emailing in there rumors, tidbits and opinions concerning Battlefront 3.

So some info on the starwarsbattlefront3.com domain, which has been updated and renewed for another year. The domain name currently redirects to starwars.com

So I’m guessing with the absence of news regarding Battlefront 3 in the last few months, I assume many of you have given up hope. However, I advise you not to do so! Here’s why:

Do any of you recall the infamous phone call to a LucasArts executive last spring/summer regarding the status of Battlefront 3? No? Well here’s a recap of what was heard if you’ve forgotten:

“Is Star Wars: Battlefront 3 real?”
“Yes.”
“When will it be released?”
“I can’t tell you, but I wouldn’t worry about it too much. It’s not even due out until November, 2010, or something. It’s still a ways off from what I understand. Nothing official obviously.”
“Who is the developer?”
“I don’t know.”

Now if you read that carefully, you would have noticed the two keys words to this conversation: November, and 2010. Now some of you might think the date’s incorrect because it’s so old, but I say it’s not too farfetched. Just look at some of the games being released this month! Black Ops, God of War, Goldeneye 007! This month would be the PERFECT time to announce Battlefront 3. If not, then there’s also a good chance it will be announced in December, around Christmas.

So to many of you who have lost hope, I say this: Let this message rekindle the old Star Wars gaming flame inside you….

Well Rainz, it has definitely rekindled my flame and I am hoping more now that they hurry up and get their asses in gear and make me my damn Battlefront 3!!

Battlefront 3 is in Development says Battlefront 3 Actor…

So, I received some promising news this morning in my email, which may bring a couple smiles to a few Battlefront 3 fans. On December 10th, I came across a link on the LucasArts forums (Thanks: robpolman) which included a link to an actor (Chris Marazzo) who has recently done some work with LucasArts on the secretly rumored Battlefront 3.

I thought this was very interesting, so I took the liberty of sending Chris an email. Basically, I asked him if he had the time to discuss what he had done with LucasArts and if he could disclose some information on the Battlefront 3 project.

So, this morning, while checking my email, I had a glorious response from Chris.

Here’s what he had to say:

“Hey Aaron,

Thanks for getting in touch. The Original Title was Battlefront 3 but it evolved into Star Wars Empire at War: Forces of Corruption”

I though that this was fairly interesting, I had no idea that this was even considered to Battlefront 3.

This was the highlight of the conversation though:

“However Battlefront 3 is also in development. It was by far the Most Fun and Coolest Casting I ever worked on.”

Sweeet! Can’t get much more direct than that! Naturally, of course, I can’t confirm that this is truly accurate, but by the sounds of it, it looks like we will get our Battlefront 3 eventually!

Chris was also so nice and very cool to add that he may be able to dig me up some Battlefront 3 storyboards, by the end of the week!!

Star Wars: Battlefront 3 – Rebellion’s looks good for Battlefront 3 Deal

Some more interesting news or maybe even a rumor.. who knows! But according to CVG, Rebellion is a good position to take the deal on the rumored upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront 3. After hearing a little while ago that Pandemic does not have the Battlefront 3 deal, it looks like we’ve gotten a whiff of who may have the contract. That would be sweet.

Here’s the news:

British developer Rebellion is now the clear favourite to make a development deal with LucasArts for the next Star Wars Battlefront game.

Earlier this week it was confirmed that‭ ‬Pandemic Studios,‭ ‬which developed the first two Battlefront games,‭ ‬is not working on the next title.

As‭ ‬Free Radical fell into administration back in December it transpired that the studio had lost its contract to develop the next Star Wars Battlefront game.‭ ‬Since then,‭ ‬Pandemic and Rebellion have sat in the spotlight as the two most likely studios to pick up the contract.‭

Yet Pandemic’s community manager Mathew Everett has removed the Californian developer from the equation.‭

“As of right now I can say‭ ‬Battlefront‭ ‬3‭ ‬is not currently at Pandemic,‭” ‬he said,‭ ‬acting as administrator on the official Pandemic‭ ‬forums.‭ “‬While I know the title seems to be up in the air from all the buzz around the web,‭ ‬LucasArts will be the only one knowing where the title is at right now.‭”

Rebellion,‭ ‬which worked on a PSP edition of Battlefront,‭ ‬is now the frontrunner in a proposed development deal., yet no such deal has been announced yet.

Rebellion was unable to return Edge’s calls at the time of writing.

Battlefront 3 May Return to Pandemic Studios

Ooh boy… and yet another smoking hot rumor has surfaced about the infamous, untitled and as of yet, untitled Star Wars: Battlefront 3. This time we have some interesting news concerning who may be doing the development of Star Wars: Battlefront 3. According to 1up.com who originally got their information from vg247.com Battlefront 3 may be returning to their original origins at Pandemic Studios.

Although we still haven’t heard a breath of information from anywhere official, including Lucas Arts, it seems the fans of the Battlefront series are very hopeful that they will be getting what they want. I think this would score a big hit with the Star Wars franchise after all the bad reviews of The Force Unleashed and a lot of negative feedback from the new MMO: The Old Republic (www.kotor3.net).

I am also setting up a forum, for everyone to discuss their opinons and maybe get some wishlist stuff happening.

Though still officially in limbo, Star Wars: Battlefront 3 may be taken back by the series’ original creators, according to a report from VideoGaming247. Citing an “insider source,” the game is said to be going back to Pandemic Studios, which made the first two Star Wars: Battlefront games.

Though the title has never even been formally announced by LucasArts, it’s been getting a lot of attention lately. Financial difficulties at FreeRadical supposedly shifted the rumored project to Rebellion. When fans saw the renders and more recently, leaked alpha footage from Free Radical, interest grew. But it’s impossible to tell if Rebellion took the existing game and built on it, or started from scratch, especially with so little official information. Now this report conflicts directly with what we’ve previously heard, claiming that Pandemic will be handling the game. If it was taken from Rebellion, we may never know exactly why, but with interest buzzing on the game we expect to hear official word on a developer soon.

Whichever studio lands the project, it’s good to know that the game itself appears to be surviving FreeRadical’s money woes. We’ll have to see how closely the project still resembles the alpha footage when official word finally comes.

A very reliable “insider source” has told videogaming247 that Star Wars Battlefront 3 is heading back to Pandemic’s studios in Los Angeles, California.

Pandemic Studios and LucasArts developed the first Battlefront back 2004, with the sequel coming out just a year later.

However, inside of 12 months of Battlefront II’s release, Free Radical Design announced that it would be making a third title in the series. The project was dropped late last year amid FRDs financial difficulties.

Yesterday, alpha footage leaked onto the net that another one our VG247’s contacts told us that footage was indeed real.

We have contacted EA, who owns Pandemic Studios, but as of yet have not been able to reach the publisher for comment.

VG247 is told that this is pretty nailed on, so expect an announcement sooner rather than later.

Star Wars: Battlefront 3 footage leaked online?

Wow, this is some pretty awesome news, whether or not this is legit or not is still unknown. It looks pretty cool and at least it gives us a little hope for the future. I’d say the chances of them making Battlefront are pretty good, although a lot of people would disagree. Hopefully, we will soon find out!

Where to begin…This week it seems that some footage from Star Wars Battlefront III was leaked onto the good old interweb. Previously thought to have been in development with Free Radical, rumors persisted that with Free Radical’s demise, the game was being passed on to Rebellion. (Who had developed Renegade Squadron for the PSP) You may remember renders showing up online a couple weeks ago and now we have gameplay footage. There are even more recent rumors that Rebellion is passing on the game and it could end up with Pandemic. (who just got dropped by EA) What does all this mean? We’re not entirely sure since none of this has been confirmed officially, so everything is still rumor and conjecture at this point.
